The UWDCC Metadata Assistant will work closely with UW Digital Collections staff to create descriptive metadata according to established standards and practices for inclusion in the UW Digital Collections. Following the digitization process, the Metadata Assistant will perform quality control checks, such as comparing metadata to their digital surrogates for accuracy. A successful Metadata Assistant will have an eye for detail, an interest in creating order out of chaos, a passion for preserving history, and enjoy working independently while also communicating regularly with other UWDCC team members. Significant portions of this work can be performed remotely.
