Position Summary/Job Duties:

Our family is seeking a reliable, caring part-time nanny to provide after-school care for our 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter, starting in January. We are looking for someone available two afternoons per week, any day but Thursdays.

We are a family with one parent working full-time from home and the other working from home 2–3 days per week.

Schedule & Responsibilities:

  • Pick both children up from their respective bus stops

  • Take our older child on a walk after his bus drop-off to decompress

  • Engaging in play and activities
  • Helping unpack backpacks

  • Managing and monitoring screen time

  • Assist with homework

  • Driving children to after-school activities as needed (depending on the day)

Long-Term Fit:
We are hoping to find someone who plans to be in the Madison area for the next 2+ years, as we value building a consistent, ongoing relationship. We anticipate continuing to need care during the summer months, with the possibility of increased hours if desired.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree in education or a related child-focused field (such as social work, child development, occupational therapy, psychology, or therapy)

  • Previous experience caring for or working with elementary-aged children is required

  • Experience supporting a child with anxiety is highly valued

  • Patient, emotionally attuned, and able to provide calm, reassuring support

  • Enjoys pretend play, storytelling, and creative activities

  • Comfortable engaging children in art, drawing, puzzles, board games, and imaginative play

Our son especially loves drawing, storytelling, and pretend games, while our daughter enjoys art projects, puzzles, board games, and imaginative play. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with children and can thoughtfully support their emotional and creative development.
