Department Overview:

The Information Technology Academy (ITA) provides educational services to diverse students, with the ultimate goal of increasing their enrollment, retention, and graduation rates at UW-Madison

Qualifications:

  • Seeking highly responsible college enrolled students in good standing who are making satisfactory progress toward a degree. (UW, Edgewood, MMI, Madison College students all eligible to apply)
  • Commitment to working with a diverse clientele required
  • Commitment to travel 2 weekends in the fall semester, 1 weekend in the spring, and 2 weeks during the summer
  • At least 3 semester commitment
  • All finalists subject to criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills essential
  • Ability to adapt to a shifting variety of duties
  • English fluency required
  • Strong computer skills and willingness to learn about Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, video production, programming are very helpful.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Supporting high school students on their independent study topics like photography, graphic design, web design, video production, programming. There is content and curriculum available to use as reference.
