Remote Work Eligibility Detail:

Tasks will mostly be performed remotely based on the locations of where photographs/video are needed. Once it is safe to do so, some onsite hours in South Hall for editing and other tasks will be expected. 

Remote work for any UW-Madison Student Employee role must be completed within the United States. International telecommuting is not permitted.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:

10 to 15 hours per week

Schedule:

As needed. Will communicate with supervisor.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

$11.00 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Excellent photography skills
  • Strong photo editing skills using various software
  • A ability to work well in a team
  • Have a creative mindset
  • Interest in learning more about the L&S environment
  • Proven professional shooting experience
  • Proficient experience with photography equipment
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or other photography/video editing specific software
  • Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of production process for online publishing and various printing applications
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • High standard of professionalism when working with a team and while photographing subjects

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient experience with photography equipment
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or other photography/video editing specific software
  • Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of production process for online publishing and various printing applications

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Capturing and processing images until desired results are achieved for various platforms (editorial, digital and social)
  • Constantly improve image quality using various editing methods
  • Develop the College’s photo library
  • Organize and catalog images for future use and to coordinate and manage image posts to social media
  • Assist with various design and video editing projects as needed
  • Arrange objects, scenes, lighting and background to adhere to specifications
  • Direct participants/photography subjects
  • Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
