Department Overview:

This position is based at the Division of Extension Natural Resources Institute and will work with the North Central Region Water Network Program. The North Central Region Water Network works in a multi-state capacity to ensure safe and sufficient water supplies by increasing the scope and positive impact of multi-state water-related outreach and research efforts in the North Central Region of the United States.

Flexible, though priority will be given to students who are open to working the full academic year.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be creative, fun-loving, self-motivated, have strong writing and editing skills, and have experience navigating web-based media including WordPress and email marketing. Experience managing social media, specifically Twitter and Facebook, is preferred. Knowledge of and interest in agriculture and natural resources and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Strong writing and editing skills. Experience writing blogs, newspaper articles, etc. a plus

-Experience managing social media in a professional setting - specifically Twitter and Facebook

-Experience maintaining websites and email marketing campaigns a bonus!

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking a Communications Assistant with demonstrated skills in communications and marketing to support implementation of the North Central Region Water Network’s communications plan. The Communications Assistant will work closely with the Network Marketing Manager and Communication Specialist to develop engaging multimedia content, promote upcoming network events, and manage ongoing network communications including social media, email marketing, and website content.
