Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student in good academic standing
• Prefer to have been enrolled for at least 1 year prior
• Must be enrolled the entire 2024-2025 academic year
• Must be able to attend Peer Educator training in late August 2024
• Must be able to legally work in the United States

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong desire to connect and foster relationships with your community
• Strong desire to learn and teach medical health and wellness information
• Enjoys engaging with a variety of people and be comfortable working collaboratively as well as individually
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate health-related information clearly and effectively

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Fall 2024
• Attend Peer Educator training August 2024
• Identify a health and/or wellness need in your community
• With the assistance of UHS medical staff, provide an educational session to students to improve their health and wellbeing
• Attend regular biweekly meetings
Spring 2025
• Evaluate educational program
• Present updated educational session after making changes based on evaluations and feedback
• Attend regular monthly meetings
• Advise UHS Medical Services on opportunities to strengthen programs and services

You will investigate the health needs of your community and will create health and wellness education sessions in collaboration with UHS. We encourage applications from qualified candidates of any race, sex, ethnicity, religion, disability status, sexual orientation, or age category.
