Department Overview:

The Urdang Lab in the School of Pharmacy, led by Dr. Lucas Richert, is dedicated to the study of medicine, pharmacy, and society using multiple lenses and methodologies. History and historical frameworks act as key anchors in the Lab’s research, teaching, and service activities — even as Richert and the larger lab are dedicated to transdisciplinarity and engaging contemporary problems.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Administrative Assistant at the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy (AIHP) and Urdang Lab 1) coordinates and supports activities and initiatives and 2) ensures smooth daily operations and supports the organization’s programs and outreach efforts. This role involves coordinating communications with members and partners, managing social media and the website, and creating digital and multimedia content. The Administrative Assistant schedules meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include organizing travel and fostering outreach initiatives (using multiple online platforms). Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills are essential for this dynamic and multifaceted role. The Administrative Assistant position will require competencies in WordPress, Zoom, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition), social media management tools (Later), and productivity software like Microsoft Office, and other tools as needed.
