Department Overview:
Get in Gear Driving School is a Wisconsin-based driver education company serving teens and adults throughout the Madison metro area. We are expanding our online platform to create a more accessible, student-friendly web experience that supports both classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Our team values creativity, initiative, and professionalism, and offers UW students a chance to build real-world experience in technology, design, and education.

Schedule:
Flexible scheduling between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Occasional weekend hours may be available near project milestones.
Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:
Minimum: $17.00 Maximum: $20.00

Qualifications:
Must be a current UW–Madison student eligible for Federal Work-Study. Coursework or experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Webflow. Familiarity with APIs or embedded scheduling/payment systems. Ability to organize and document processes clearly. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Collaborate on website structure, navigation, and responsive design. Support integration of third-party tools (scheduling, payment, analytics). Test for accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and performance. Document workflows for long-term maintenance and updates. Troubleshoot site issues or content upload challenges as needed.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Assist in building and maintaining Get in Gear’s web infrastructure, ensuring smooth integration between front-end design, scheduling, and content management systems. The role focuses on structuring a scalable, user-friendly site that supports both student and instructor experiences.
Physical Demands:
Primarily computer-based work; must be able to sit for extended periods and perform basic office/computer functions.
