Department Overview:

 This position is within IIT and primarily supports the Department of Psychiatry and potentially other departments in the School of Medicine and Public Health. Also known as the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institutes and Clinics ("WisPIC"), the Department is located at 6001 Research Park Blvd. We help over 300 individuals and support over 550 devices.

Schedule:

 Your work schedule is built around your class schedule. Your supervisor will work with you to determine a regular work schedule. Availability must be during standard business hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There are no weekend hours.

Qualifications:

 -Ambition to take the initiative and to finish work.
-A great sense of organization (both digitally and on your desk).
-Working both independently and collaboratively.
-Thoroughness in your work, attention to detail.
-A willingness to learn procedures.
-Desire to explain basic computer concepts to non-technical people.

You'll be a great candidate if you are the go-to person for friends and family (parents, grandparents) about computer problems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-No programming skills needed or used.
-Basic understanding of computer troubleshooting.
-Basic familiarity with either Mac or Windows devices.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

-Gathering and documenting information about issues.
-Help walk-in customers and answer phone.
-Handled assigned work and tracking progress.
-Setting up and disassembling computer equipment placement.
-Inventorying computer equipment and maintaining accurate records.

Physical Demands:

-Lift 40 pounds.
-Push a cart.
-Cable management.
-Remain on your feet for 30-minutes at a time.
-Accommodations can be provided.
