Qualifications:
Applicants must be a graduate student or hold a graduate degree with excellent English oral and written communication skills, excellent research and reading skills. Experience with online or in-person teaching or learning required. International students who have not received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution are required to provide English proficiency test score of 26/30 or higher on the speaking section of the iBt TOEFL test, 8.0 or higher on the speaking section of the IELTS, or a score of 50 or higher on the SPEAK test. Graduate student must not be currently enrolled in the course.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Knowledge of interaction design, an approach to designing digital information systems that places humans and their needs at the center of the design process. Familiarity of core principles of design, design processes, cognition, information science and human values inform the design of interactive information systems. Ability to discuss and practice apply the data-driven process of human-centered interaction design to develop new digital products and services.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) will assist the course instructor in operation of the spring class including: leading exercise sessions, providing technological support to the students in the class, grading assignments, posting materials, troubleshooting issues with Canvas, managing communications with students via email and discussion boards. The TA is expected to attend and participate in all class sessions on Friday 2:30-3:45pm in Morgridge Hall 2532.
