Schedule:
Over the summer a student is expected to work 35-40 hours over normal business hours (8am-4pm).

Qualifications:
Undergraduate student interested in science, biology or bioinformatics would be qualified for this position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The ideal candidate should be comfortable basic laboratory techniques including PCR and DNA isolation. Individual should be fluent with Microsoft Excel and open to learning additional software programs as needed (e.g. Microsoft Illustrator). Strong communication skills within teams and with the public is also necessary. Prior laboratory experience is preferred with skill sets including PCR and DNA isolation.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Duties and responsibilities may include tissue sample collection and process, cell culture maintenance, basic cellular and molecular biology, email and phone correspondence with pet owners, data entry, participant recruitment, and maintenance of out laboratory website and social media outlets.
Physical Demands:
This work requires some physical demands associated with working with client owned animals. However, computer based work is less demanding and roles that only require desk and computer work will be considered if needed.
