Qualifications:
1. A VAKC Student Intern must be at least 18 years old and be interested in a related college major.
2. A person selected for this position must also have a warm, friendly personality, be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill job responsibilities outlined in this document in accordance with VAKC philosophy and policy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
A VA Kids Center (VAKC) Student Intern is responsible for assisting a Lead Teacher in the supervision, management, and implementation of the daily program for an assigned group(s) of children.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
A VA Kids Center (VAKC) Student Intern is responsible for assisting a Lead Teacher in the supervision, management, and implementation of the daily program for an assigned group(s) of children. A Student Intern works alongside one or more Lead Teachers. Student Interns are responsible to the Director.
Physical Demands:
Most positions at VAKC require bending and lifting of at least 25 pounds. Positions with children also require detailed work instructions and varying routines.
