Dr. Linsey Steege, Professor in the School of Nursing, is seeking a UW-Madison graduate student to support a federally funded research study on hospital nurse burnout for up to 20 hours per week over spring and summer of 2026. Students in health sciences, industrial and systems engineering, or system design majors are preferred. There is a potential for this position to continue in subsequent years (i.e. into Fall 2026 and beyond). Tuition remission is included if meeting the minimum hourly requirements (13.5 hours/week). The project assistant will help recruit hospital nurses for a research study, assist with intervention implementation, and conduct participant interviews. Priority will be given to those with experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing research team and to work with nursing professionals to design, test, and implement a program to redesign hospital nursing units to reduce burnout.
