The Office of Risk Management is excited to share we have a Risk Management student employment opportunity in our area beginning April/May 2026. This fully remote position, supporting risk identification and risk control activities for campus, offers up to 30 hours per week during the Summer with opportunity to work a required minimum of 10-12 hours per week during the school year, all with flexible scheduling. The position reports to the Liability Risk Manager and will provide administrative support to Risk Management work activities within the department. Primary responsibility is assisting with administration of the driver authorization program for campus. Some key facets include evaluating driver compliance, accessing and evaluating records, email communications on driver authorization review processes, inquiries, approvals and declinations, and updating internal risk management procedures and process guides. This position includes an opportunity to engage in developing, creating, and managing reporting from the driver authorization database. Becoming familiar with UW-Madison, UW System and Bureau of State Risk Management policies related to driver authorizations and the State’s Self-Funded Liability program (SSLP) will be encouraged and help ensure success in this position. Other responsibilities may include administrative support for Automobile and General Liability Incidents/Claims and evaluating campus Special Events for compliance with insurance requirements, updating databases, supporting shared departmental email inboxes, managing electronic documents and special projects as assigned. Student employees in the Division of Business Services Office of Risk Management have potential to earn incremental hourly pay increases upon successful completion of each term of employment (summer, fall, spring) in the position when eligibility requirements are met.
