Position Summary/Job Duties:

Are you looking for a purpose-driven, part-time role where your work directly improves the lives of children and supports their families?

As a Respite Care Provider you could provide vital, specialized care that allows Hudson's mom to take a necessary break. This isn't just supervision—it's an opportunity to foster a Hudson's development, build essential life skills, and create moments of fun and connection.

What You'll Do & The Impact You'll Make:

  • Recreational Companion: Engage in fun, meaningful activities like playing with legos, action figures, dinosaurs, watch movies, and play minecraft!
  • Family Anchor: Offer Hudson's mom the peace of mind and essential time off they need to recharge, work, or complete other needs knowing their child is in capable, caring hands.

Career Structure: Control Your Part-Time Schedule

We understand that you have a life outside of work. The Respite Care provide position is strictly PART-TIME and is designed for maximum flexibility, perfectly suited for students or those seeking supplemental income.

  • You Set the Terms: You will collaborate directly with the family to create a weekly or monthly schedule that genuinely works for both of you.
  • Typical Hours: Care is generally provided during non-school hours, focusing on afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Increased Opportunity: Enjoy the potential for significantly more hours during school breaks, holidays, and the summer months.
  • Hudson's community mental health team is ready and willing to collaborate on ways to best support Hudson, his needs, and provider information to ensure you feel confident in supporting Hudson when providing respite. 

Experience Preferred:

  • Creativity and patience, ability to work with children and youth who may have special needs, including emotional and behavioral needs. Hudson is diagnosed with autism (PDA profile), ADHD, and a mood disorder
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs 
  • The ability to manage and de-escalate situations when Hudson may become dysregulated. The ability and capcity to manage emotions under stressful child care situations

This is a great part-time opportunity for education/special education students, social work, nursing, and psychology majors but all students interested are welcome to apply!

Providers will be paid at a rate of $21.00/hour before taxes and reimburest for travel at the rate of $0.70/mile.
