Must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at UW

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills and work ethic
  • Demonstrated programming skills (Python, C++)
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications and software (TensorFlow)
  • BONUS: Experience with Unity or Unreal
  • BONUS: Experience with ROS
  • BONUS: Experience with Blender, Maya, Solidworks, or other 3D modeling software

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking to hire a PA / RA to help build robots for a US Army project in the AmFam Data Science Institute at UW-Madison. As a graduate assistant you will be tasked with helping stand up a simulation for training an autonomous vehicle to navigate a virtual environment. 

  • Collaborate with programmers and 3D modelers to reach milestones on time
  • Test and debug system
  • Research and implement tools and dynamic elements into virtual environment
  • Create and manage 3D assets and environments through photogrammetry
  • Program control logic for virtual autonomous vehicle
