  • Must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at UW 
  • Please include a portfolio, link to website, or video demonstrating 3D modeling skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good communication skills and work ethic
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Solid knowledge of 3D modeling software - Maya, Blender, 3DS Max, etc.
  • Experience with Photoshop
  • Familiarity with game design engines such as Unity or Unreal
  • Basic programming knowledge (Python or C++)
  • BONUS: Experience with Robotics

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking to hire a PA / RA to help develop 3D models and a virtual environment to train robots for a US Army project in the AmFam Data Science Institute at UW-Madison. As a graduate assistant you will lead a team of undergrads to create and maintain digital assets through photogrammetry and 3D modeling. You will also work with programmers to generate a realistic simulated environment for autonomous vehicle testing.


  • Create, edit, and optimize realistic 3D environments
  • Generate and refine textures and UV maps
  • Develop and implement custom vehicle models
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with development team
  • Work with programmers and other researchers to reach milestones on time
  • Creatively solve technical limitations to ensure virtual environment runs smoothly
  • Import/export assets across various software (Photoshop, Maya, Unity)
