Department Overview:
University Health Services is the UW-Madison student health center, with a mission to enhance learning and student success by promoting and protecting health and well-being. Our medical services include a primary care clinic and specialty clinics for immunizations, gynecology, travel, and sexual health.

Qualifications:
Required - able to work independently and part of a team - able to follow verbal and written instructions - excellent verbal and written communication skills - customer service experience - professionalism and accountability Preferred - experience in a health care setting - medical terminology - understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA - MA/CNA/EMT, First Aid experience - CPR certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Customer service skills over the phone and in-person Able to communicate effectively with all team members Ability to follow protocols, knowledge of problem-solving techniques Demonstrates an ability to work independently, with co-workers, and on a team Excellent time management and organization skills
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Under direction and supervision of nursing and professional medical personnel the student health technician will prepare exam rooms for patient visits, organize, clean and stock the general clinic area and exam rooms, escort patients from the waiting area to the exam rooms, obtain vital signs, document in patient medical records and assist with lab collection. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

May be required to lift between 10-25 pounds
