Department Overview:

A 501c(3), Maydm provides girls and youth of color grades 6-12 with the skills, experiences, and connections to pursue careers in and change the face of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We envision a world where all students know that a career in STEM is possible for them; a world where all students can pursue their dreams as entrepreneurs, developers, engineers, or professors in a STEM field.

Schedule:

Hours can be scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Qualifications:

Work Study Preferred
Ability to work in a small, fast-paced environment
Ability to work in-office, at least 2 days per week
Exceptional skills in areas of organization, attention to detail, time management, ability to manage multiple projects, define and set priorities, and problem solve
Studying communications, marketing, graphic design, or similar field is preferred
Strong writing and editing skills
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, and/or other graphic design tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools
Basic knowledge of photo and video editing software
Creativity and the ability to use branding guidelines

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Create and post new digital content - including photos and videos
Draft, edit, and prepare special publications and assist in the development of marketing materials
Develop content for social media sites, create and maintain a relevant presence and voice, and actively engage with followers and other relevant accounts
Monitor website and social media traffic using analytics; make content adjustments as needed
Capture and edit photographs/video
Plan, produce, and finalize videos highlighting Maydm programs, people, and impact to build awareness about the organization’s mission
Explore initiatives to facilitate interactivity and engagement online
Assist with special projects, as needed
