Department Overview:
The McCoy lab comprises members with interest in dry eye, autoimmunity, and Sjogren's disease. Sjogren's disease is one of the most common systemic rheumatic diseases with markedly female predominant epidemiology. It drives severe dry eye and mouth and systemic disease activity that affects a multitude of organs. We use a variety of modeling techniques to understand this disease including mouse models, in vitro culture dish approaches, and microphysiologic systems/organoids, among others. Our goal is to cure Sjogren's disease.
