Department Overview:
The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Staff Affairs supports the university by helping improve the recruitment, development, retention, and daily experience of faculty and staff. The team leads and supports programs and initiatives that strengthen the campus workplace and promotes a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled UW-Madison undergraduate student in good academic standing committed for two-semesters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The Faculty & Staff Affairs Interns support the Assistant Vice Provost and Administrative Manager with administrative tasks, project tracking, communication support, and basic research. This undergraduate internship provides hands-on experience with operations and coordination in a professional office setting. Preferred skills include: • Strong organization and time-management skills • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally • Interest in administrative work, project coordination, or higher education systems • Ability to follow established processes and ask questions when needed • Basic skills in data entry, document preparation, and information tracking • Willingness to learn new tools and systems (e.g., scheduling software, shared drives) Core responsibilities include: • Assisting with office operations • Supporting project and initiative tracking • Helping maintain organized records and documents • Preparing basic materials for meetings or reports.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Assist with day-to-day office operations, including organizing documents, updating spreadsheets, and tracking project tasks. • Support scheduling and calendar-related tasks, including preparing materials for meetings and helping maintain timelines for ongoing projects. • Help maintain organized data systems, including entering information, updating files, and preparing simple reports or summaries. • Conduct basic research or gather information to support faculty and staff initiatives. • Draft or prepare meeting agendas, notes, or presentation materials as needed. • Assist with communication and coordination across office projects, including sharing updates, organizing materials, and helping with logistical tasks. • Support recruitment, retention, and development programs by helping track activities, organize resources, and prepare materials.
