Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong interest in public service, community engagement, and nonprofit work Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with event planning or volunteer coordination is a plus, but not required Detail-oriented, with strong time-management abilities A positive attitude and passion for service and community development Ability to adapt to change Knowledge/familiarity with historical and current issues of social justice and equity in Dane County and Wisconsin

Position Summary/Job Duties:
|
Serve as a peer advisor to UW-Madison students and staff who visit or contact the center regarding volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups Serve as a direct resource and administrator for the Student Organization Partnership Program for dual affiliated student organizations Act as an in-house expert regarding local volunteer opportunities, Morgridge Center programs and events, and community engagement opportunities for students and student organizations Organize monthly one-time service opportunities Conduct peer-led engagement sessions Stay aware of community and campus service needs and guide students to appropriate volunteer opportunities Support registered student organizations on campus with community partnership, preparation and engagement
Outreach Represent the Center at campus functions, e.g., Public Service Fairs, Student Org fairs, resource fairs, etc. Conduct presentations to classrooms, residence halls, and other interested groups about the Morgridge Center, Badger Volunteers, and volunteerism Conduct outreach to student groups, housing and other campus units promoting the Morgridge Center and our programs Create handouts for students interested in volunteering by major and social interest area Assist with student recruitment to participate in programs, special events, and other service opportunities Create presentations, power points, Prezis, and outlines for various audiences
Administrative Maintain lists and information sheets detailing specific current volunteer opportunities with accurate contact information Manage email inquiries through Morgridge Center advising email account Prepare information packets on the Morgridge Center for different groups, Residence Halls, ASM, and student organizations to increase awareness about our related services Maintain records of current, previous, and future outreach activity
General Center Support Support workshop requests and facilitate educational workshops to interested groups As needed, support general office needs, such as front desk staffing or outreach opportunities As interested, support any Center-wide committees Attend Morgridge Center trainings, staff meetings, and events as required
