Science Policy Intern - Work Study Required summary: Science Policy Intern - Work Study Required
The American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) are seeking a Science Policy Intern to support member advocacy and congressional outreach activities.
In this role, you will help administer an online advocacy platform, assist with setting up and launching 4–6 advocacy campaigns per year, and provide support to members contacting their congressional representatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to user questions, maintaining campaign materials and web content, tracking campaign activity, and coordinating with staff to ensure members have access to advocacy tools.
Ideal candidates have an interest in science policy, agriculture, or public policy, along with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer service mindset. A background or coursework in public policy, political science, communications, or a related field is preferred. Experience with member services, advocacy, or a nonprofit/association environment is a plus.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in science advocacy and congressional outreach while supporting the work of three leading professional societies in the agricultural sciences.
