Millennium Soccer Club Coaching Coordinator Job Description
The Millennium Soccer Club (MSC) is looking for a coaching coordinator at Lincoln Elementary School this spring for its six-week soccer programs that will serve boys and girls in grades 2-5 from ethnically diverse, lower-income neighborhoods in south Madison. These programs will focus primarily on the development of the basic skills needed to have fun and success playing the game. The sessions for all of the programs will take place only on Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:00, starting on April. 20th and ending on May 25 (Rain date June 1).
The coordinator's responsibilities will include the following: send out weekly emails to their volunteer coaches, which will include, among other things, practice plans and coaching tips (both provided by Millennium) for the upcoming session, arrive at their assigned neighborhood site 30 minutes prior to the start of the morning's activities to organize/manage the setting up of the equipment needed for the session, meet with their coaches to go over the activities to be used during the practice portion of the session, assist their coaches (whenever needed), and coordinate the collection of the equipment at the end of the session.
The coaching coordinator position involves a 2 and a half hour commitment each Saturday, and a little bit of time to send the coaching plans emails during the week. The compensation for this position is a $500 stipend.
MSC will provide all new coaching coordinators a one-time training session prior to the start of the spring season to give them an in-depth overview of how Millennium’s weekly sessions work.
