Academic Coaching to Thrive and Succeed is part of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Educational Achievement. About the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Educational Achievement (DDEEA)

Under the direction of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion, Vice Provost, and Chief Diversity Officer (DVCDI/VPCDO), the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA/Division) supports the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as it works to create a diverse, inclusive, and excellent learning and work environment for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners at the university. The DDEEA is comprised of administrative, education, scholarship, and service programs whose work overlaps with the core values of community, inclusion, organizational excellence, transparency, and accountability. The DDEEA collaborates, leads, and consults in efforts to seed new initiatives and coordinate numerous institutional efforts to support, guide, and promote these priorities. The DDEEA Units include The Center for Educational Opportunity ( CeO, posse, First Wave, McNair, PEOPLE, Mercille J. Lee Scholars, and our scholars who identify as Native American/Indigenous.

Qualifications:

-Graduate students with teaching/tutoring/mentoring experience in specific subjects ( Anatomy and Physiology 235, 335, 337, Computer Science 200, Math 096, 112,113,114,171, 211, 217, 221, 222, 234, Physics 103, 109, Psychology 202, 211, Statistics 301, 371, Chemistry 343,344,345, EMA 201, 202, Biology 151,152, Zoology 101, Zoology 151)
-Enrolled at UW Madison as a graduate student, speciali student with an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher
-Interested in working with undergraduate students from various backgrounds
-Must be able to perform and comply with all job responsibilities both in person and remotely

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Knowledgeable in the following disciplines you anticipate to support academically.
-Seeking tutoring in the following subjects: Anatomy and Physiology 235, 335, 337, Computer Science 200, Math 096, 112,113,114,171, 211, 217, 221, 222, 234, Physics 103, 109, Psychology 202, 211, Statistics 301, 371, Chemistry 343,344,345, EMA 201, 202, Biology 151,152, Zoology 101, Zoology 151
-Must earn at least an AB or better in the course interested in coaching
-Willing to work in a group setting ( 3-5 students), attend in person trainings sessions, professional development, drop in tutoring, and maintain regular hours with the program
-Excelling communication skills
-Problem solving /organizational skills for the subject
-Innovative way of teaching/creativity
