Schedule:
Summer:
20-40 hours per week, positions based on availability & operational need, flexible scheduling options may be available, schedule will be set upon hire.
Shifts available 7:30AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday, some overtime may be available on weekend
Seasonal : This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 30 hour per week average rule in regards to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months.
Academic Year:
Part time, 10-15 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling based on academic availability and operational need.
Shifts available between 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, some weekend hours as operationally needed.
Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours.
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.75 to $15.75

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Promote a positive work environment by role modeling appropriate work behavior, strong work ethic, good decision making, critical thinking and a customer service
Work collaboratively with area Maintenance and Trades Supervisors to inspect work
Be professional and helpful at all times, communicate clearly and accurately, report building maintenance issues, follow-up with customers as needed.
Inspect rooms for damaged or broken furniture
Inventory life safety equipment (ex: exit devices, egress signage, fire extinguishers, etc)
Inventory hand tools required for daily work
Coordinate the work of other student staff
Complete work overhead using ladders (ex: changing lightbulbs, replacing ceiling tiles)
Other duties as assigned
Summer specific duties include:
Make priority repairs in buildings occupied by short-term stay summer conference guests.
Complete work that reuires buildings and apartments to be unoccupied includeing vent cleaning, filter replacements, smoke detector battery replacements, and fixture updates
Oversee, install, and train other staff on window unit air conditioners, including annual cleaning and maintenance
Qualifications:
Must be able to regularly lift objects weighing approximately 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and squat to perform work.
A valid, unrestricted driver’s license which meets UW Risk Management standards is preferred.
Familiarity with University Housing operation preferred.
Previous maintenance or trades experience preferred.
Satisfactory results of a confidential criminal background check are required.
