Department Overview:

Since 2009, Achieving Collaborative Treatment (ACT) has been serving children and young adults on the autism spectrum in South Central Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide top-tier behavior analytic services to autistic individuals and their families. We work collaboratively with families and schools to design and implement an individualized age-appropriate treatment plan for each client. 

Anticipated Hours Per Week

5 to 30

Schedule:

Shifts available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-6:30pm as well as weekend. Schedules are very flexible and range from 6-25 hours a week based on your schedule and the desired number of hours you want to work. We can work around your class schedule.

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.00 to $18.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

**$250 BONUS**

We are looking for fun-loving and caring individuals to join our team to mentor and provide support for autistic individuals. This is a wonderful opportunity to broaden your knowledge and skills in a variety of areas and serve as a mentor encouraging children to build lasting life skills. What will you do?

  • You will work 1:1 with clients in their home or community setting. Sessions usually run 2-4 hours long. You will introduce and run therapy programs (which will be developed for you) and collect data during each session.
  • No experience needed as we offer paid training. 
  • If you enjoy working with kids and want to make a difference in the world - this is the job for you!

With this internship:

  • You will gain in depth experience for anyone studying psychology, OT/PT/ST, education, early childhood, special education, nursing, human services, social work or related fields. Broaden your knowledge and skills in these areas beyond what you’ve learned in class.
  • You will conduct a variety of treatment programming and record important data regarding our clients.
  • Through periodic team meetings you will be given the opportunity to collaborate while diving deeper into treatment programming and data collection.
  • Boost your future career opportunities by building your resume with us.

This is a paid internship. Preference will be given to students who are willing to stay for at least a year (we can work around your classes). Reliable transportation is preferred as not all of our clients live on the bus line.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, compassionate, patient and enjoy working with children and young adults
  • Must reside in the Dane County or immediate surrounding area and have access to a vehicle or reliable tranportation
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma
  • Prefer someone who can work with us for at least one year

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
