Miss Lydia is just about 13 months old. She fell ill with meningitis complicated by seizures earlier this year and survived 1-in-4 odds! She spent 26 days in the PICU and 54 days total in the hospital. She’s now healthy and happy, but trailing in milestones.

Part of her recovery is maximizing neuroplasticity in her first few years of life as she’s not up against any progressive diagnoses. Our goal is to do everything we can now so that she has the highest quality of life later. We're doing our best, but my husband and I are officially pouring from empty cups. We need to start leaning on more help.

We’re looking for someone that can commit to 2 visits per week of 5-7 hours each. We're available Monday/Tuesday/Friday from 2pm on and the entirety of Saturday/Sunday.

Your role as a caregiver is to participate in developmental play, complete a small list of 5 at-home exercises provided by Lydia’s therapy team, incorporate therapeutic play of your own creation, read, sing, snuggle(a lot), and overall encourage normal baby milestones in a low pressure environment. You must be willing to learn how to use a feeding pump, though it’s easy enough for two first-time parents with no medical backgrounds!

We do not need any household chores completed.

Please note that this position is being filled in partnership with Dane County CLTS (the payment provider) so the final candidate will need to complete a background check through them.
