Schedule:
School year hours are Sunday mornings 7:50 a.m.-11:50 a.m. through June 8, 2025. If mutually desired we can discuss staying on for summer and beyond. This could be a job share with other care providers so that one or more Sundays per month you may take off as long as coverage is maintained.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Midvale Community Lutheran Church is seeking one or more caring and responsible persons to provide childcare for infants and young children during our Sunday morning worship and education time. This person may be asked to supervise volunteer nursery helpers. In addition, the person(s) will also serve as a resource to our Sunday school program during our Sunday School hour.
Duties:
Provide age-appropriate nurturing care in accordance with Midvale Child & Youth Safety Policy
Maintain safety of the environment.
Provide direction to childcare volunteers, as necessary.
Keep the nursery clean & in good order to maintain a healthy environment.
Report supply needs to the Children's, Youth, & Family Director.
Provide support to our Sunday school program as needed including but not limited to: serving as a host to Infants, Toddlers & Twos with their parents, providing leadership in our preschool program or serving as a one on one buddy to an older student with special needs.
Qualifications:
This person must have excellent judgement and decision-making skills to handle emergencies or difficult situations. This person must have excellent communication skills to speak with children on age-appropriate level, to communicate with parents, and to communicate with program staff. Successful reference and background check is required. We are located on the bus line and you will need to provide your own transportation. Candidate must be 18+. Training or experience working with children with special needs is a plus.
