Position Summary/Job Duties:

Adult individuals ages 18-24 with normal hearing are needed to participate in listening experiments for research studies. The tasks include a hearing screening, listening to sounds at a comfortable level and selecting a computer response button after each sound is heard. Some sessions involve listening while having an EEG recording and other sessions involve listening while a camera tracks your eye movements.

Participants must be 18 to 24 years of age, have normal hearing, have normal neurological history, speak English as first language, and be able to provide their social security number in order to receive compensation for participation.

Compensation rate is $12/hour. The total time commitment for the study is anticipated to be 12 hours divided into 3-4 visits to our lab at the UW Waisman Center over several weeks. The first study visit will take place by the end of the 2024 calendar year. The remaining visits will take place in January & February 2025.

Qualifications:

Ages 18-24
No history of hearing loss and no recent ear infections
Normal neurological history
English is first language
