Position Summary/Job Duties:

I am looking for someone to help with afternoon/evening bridge care and occasional babysitting for my sweet and funny 8-year-old daughter.

My immediate need (beginning January 8) is for someone to pick her up from school at Franklin Elementary at 2:30pm on Wednesday afternoons, bring her to music lessons, then bring her to our home near the Capitol. I will be home to relieve the sitter at 5:30pm. The compensation is $20/hr for 3 hours of work. I will also ask about shorter bridge care opportunities on certain Tuesday afternoons, and occasional babysitting for evenings and school closure days if the sitter happens to be available. Comfort with dogs is a must - we have a sweet 4yo pooch and the job will entail walking the dog sometimes as well.

Responsibilities may generally include:

  • Ensuring her safety during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Occasionally preparing/feeding her meals and snacks
  • Reading with her, supervising homework completion
  • Taking her to the playground and other prearranged activities
  • Occasional transport to and from other extracurricular activities (driver’s license not required)
  • Helping her to tidy up play areas
  • Walking the dog
  • (For evening babysitting) Putting her to bed

Qualifications:

    •    Previous experience as a Nanny or Babysitter, with reference
    •    Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage children
    •    Multitasking skills
    •    A pleasant and patient personality
    •    Background check (if none available yet, we will pay for a service)
