BadgerBots is hiring college students to teach hands-on STEM summer camps for kids in grades K-8! If you love working with kids and have an interest in teaching, robotics, coding, engineering and/or science, this is the perfect opportunity to gain teaching experience, build leadership skills and have fun while helping kids learn and grow.
Our instructors lead week-long camps. We’ll give you the curriculum, and you’ll put it into action!
Duties include:
Presenting lessons in a fun, engaging way
Managing a class (transitioning between activities, keeping the class on task, enforcing behavior expectations)
Effectively working with other instructors and camp counselors
Setting up materials before each session and cleaning up at the end
Assisting with camper check-in, lunch and check-out
Cleaning up the facility
Completing tasks as assigned by camp director and site administrator
The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor activities
We’d love if you have some familiarity with the following: Scratch or other block-based code languages, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript, Python or other programming languages. But it’s not necessary—we can teach you what you need to know.
Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background check.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for candidates who have experience working with kids in camp or club programs, K-12 education or any other youth mentoring role. We’re particularly interested in capable public speakers, as well as those who can think on their feet, adapt to their students’ learning styles and love teaching STEM topics in a hands-on way.
We’d love it if you have some familiarity with the following: Scratch or other block-based coding languages, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript, Python or other programming languages. But it’s not necessary—we can teach you what you need to know. Students pursuing teaching degrees in elementary or secondary education are also encouraged to apply.
Bonus points if you have legendary 4-square or kickball skills—our campers take recess games seriously! We’re kidding, of course, but by the end of the summer, you’ll be a pro!
Physical Demands
Standing for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, crouching and outdoor play. Set-up and cleanup. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure that all instructors can perform their role comfortably and effectively.
