Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Schedule:
Anticipated Schedule
Schedule is flexible and will depend on student hiring needs.
Will need to work at least one evening and one weekend shift in order to conduct orientations for new hires.
Minimum Hour Expecations
Minimum of 12 hours (3 shifts) per week during the school year.
More hours available if requested.
Summer hours would be a minimum of 20 hours (4 shifts) per week.
Unit Hours
11am-10pm Sunday-Saturday

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and respond to daily email correspondence Handle paperwork and assist in filing and organizing HR documents
Communicate with other HR departments regarding staffing and hiring requirements
Maintain organization and ensure details are consistently accurate
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs (preferred) to manage documents and reports
Perform general administrative duties as needed
Additional responsibilities may include:
Assists Unit’s Management in HR Recruitment and Terminations of staff
Checking emails and answering emails to potential recruits
Performs MU Restaurant Division orientations for new staff
Posts all accounts payable invoices compliant with Union accounting practices.
Maintains the cash counting files reconciling employee sheets with cash offices forms
Ensure employee trainings are up to date
Supporting/Monitoring Divisional Schedule App
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
This position is in an office environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals
Presents a pleasant and professional demeanor
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members
Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and meet deadlines
Ability to work with confidential information
Possess the ability to manage multiple projects
