Department Overview:

We are more than our name! Since 1956 UCP has been a recognized and trusted organization offering valuable services for families, children and adults with varying disabilities and delays living throughout south central Wisconsin. (Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Richland, Rock and Sauk Counties.) We support individuals with autism, epilepsy, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, delays in speech, mobility and development, etc.

Camp runs from June 16-Aug 15th, but you may have client hours as soon as June 1st for training shifts

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Job Overview
Summer is just on the horizon! Join UCP and have a fun summer in the sun at our inclusive day camp! Mentor and assist our teenaged campers as they participate in field trips and group activities. Over the summer, you will build meaningful and impactful relationships with our campers and other facilitators.

Responsibilities

  • Be present and engaging
  • Support participation in guided and self-directed camper activity
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and the development of friendships
  • Collaborate with other facilitators to enhance the overall camp experience
  • Provide flexible support options, congruent with camper care plans
  • Maintain open communication with your supervisor and parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, classroom, or recreational setting is preferred.
