Department Overview:

The Sauk Prairie School District believes that we should provide opportunities for lifelong learning through Community Education. The Community Education model includes Educational, Social, Health, Cultural, and Recreational opportunities that meet the needs of all School District residents.

Located along the Wisconsin River, the Sauk Prairie area includes the villages of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac. It is about 25 miles from downtown Madison or a 38 minute drive. 

Community Education Services is a department within the Sauk Prairie School District and offers community education, aquatics and childcare programs.

Our programs are designed to meet the needs of all age groups.  We strive to provide an affordable and beneficial experience to all our patrons.  We are always interested in input and seeking instructors for our programs.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Do you have an expertise, skill, talent, or knowledge that you would like to share? Sauk Prairie Community Education is seeking paid instructors to offer classes, workshops or special events to enrich the lives in the Sauk Prairie community. This is part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling and pay is determined with instructor input.

Community Education offers classes for all ages including the areas of technology, arts and crafts, cooking, health and fitness, music and dance, business and financial, and adult enrichment. However, our courses are determined by community input and instructor interest.

There is no minimum requirement or educational degree to be an instructor and hours are flexible. Community Education instructors have a passion for the subject they teach and a level of professionalism that reflects well on our community. Community Education courses vary in length and time.

Qualifications:

There is no minimum requirement or educational degree to be an instructor for Community Education. Community Education instructors have a passion for and knowledge in the subject they teach and a level of professionalism that reflects well on our community. Applicants must have a desire to teach/share in class, workshop or special event setting.

Experience working with school-age children as well as adults in a presenting or teaching environment is a plus. 

Willingness and ability to travel to Sauk Prairie to offer a class or program is necessary.
