Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking for an experienced babysitter who can watch our 9-year-old son on Wednesday nights on the near east side (close to the Willy St Coop East) while we take an ongoing weekly class. We would also offer occasional opportunities to babysit on other times / dates as your availability and interest permit.

On Wednesday nights, we would need you to arrive by 5:30 pm and we are usually home by about 9. We usually have dinner available for both him and the sitter, but it tends to be in the frozen pizza / mac-n-cheese category of dinners so you are also welcome to bring something to supplement. This is an ongoing, year-round need, with some breaks during the course of the year.

Our son is in 4th grade and is a little slow to warm up to new people but is (in our totally unbiased option...) a really great kid. Some of his interests include LEGOs, reading, art, playing piano and music in general, playing outside, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings. We are looking for someone who will actively engage him (to help speed up the warm-up process), encourage his interests, and also encourage him to try new things.

Qualifications:

- Experience with caring for children 8-12 age range

- CPR / basic first aid preferred
