Department Overview:

The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin is a statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities—and their families—through awareness, education, support, and connection. DSAW-SC provides programs and services as well as educational opportunities and events.

Schedule:

The schedule is very flexbile. Most of the work can be completed remotely. There will be occasion to attend events throughout South Central Wisconsin as needed.

The job will be between 5-15 hours/week.

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.00 to $18.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Position Description for Outreach & Event Assistant Coordinator

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about inclusion. They should be comfortable working independently, supporting multiple projects, and occasionally working evenings and weekends during events.High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to regularly lift at least 40 pounds for event and program support.
  • Must be able to pass a caregiver and driver’s license background check.
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, Constant Contact, Basecamp, and Facebook is a plus.
  • Compassion, experience, and/or interest in working with individuals with disabilities

Physical Demands

ability to life 40 pounds, ability to drive a car to and from short distances, and ability to be able to walk
