We need a sitter the 4th Friday of each month from 3:15 to 9pm. We may also ask for help on other occasions when our nanny is unavailable. Preference will be given to applicants who can be available all or part of Fri 11/21, as our regular nanny will be out of town. Our 5yo really attached to our last sitter, who recently moved away after graduating. For this reason, preference will also be given to those who hope to continue babysitting for at least the next year. 

We are looking for someone who truly loves children and is interested in building an ongoing positive relationship with our daughters. Previous childcare experience preferred, but not required. Being responsible, knowledgeable about routine safety risks (especially with regard to toddlers), and enthusiastic are more important than formal childcare experience. 

Duties include playing with the girls after school, helping them with dinner (including some very light cooking, like making a box of Mac and cheese and steaming veggies), doing bath, and getting them into bed. Our 5yo is independent in all self-cares: using the bathroom, dressing, showering, and brushing teeth. While she often showers with no adult help, she also sometimes asks to bathe with her sister so they can play together. Our 2yo has started potty training but still uses diapers, so some diaper changes may be necessary. She needs help with her self-cares such as dressing, brushing teeth, and requires continuous supervision while in the bath. 

Both kids are social and easygoing. They enjoy arts and crafts, music/dance, and playing outside. They listen as well or better than expected given their ages. There is no history of any behavioral concerns or special needs. 

A genuine enjoyment of spending time with children is a must. Past experience providing childcare is preferred, but not required. If you have no formal childcare experience, we will want to know about your informal experiences caring for children and assess your ability to keep kids safe and engaged while with them.
