Position Summary/Job Duties:

We’re seeking a caring, reliable, and responsible student to join our family as a part-time nanny for the spring semester, with the potential to continue into the summer.

You’d care for our two children — a 3-year-old boy and an almost 1.5-year-old girl — on Thursday afternoons for 4 hours (1:30-5:30). I (mom) will be home from 1:30–2:00 before leaving to teach at UW, and my husband finishes work at 5:00. He will use the last half hour (5:00–5:30) to walk our dogs and prep dinner, so you’ll stay until 5:30.

A typical Thursday looks like:

  • 1:30–2:00 – I’m home with you and the kids.

  • 2:00–5:00 – You’ll play, read, do crafts, or spend time outside with our 3-year-old. Our youngest may nap until around 2:30–3:00.

  • 5:00–5:30 – My husband is home; one child may be with him while you wrap up the afternoon.

We have two friendly dogs (a Lab and a Golden Retriever), so comfort with pets is important.

On occasional weeks when grandparents are visiting, childcare may not be needed. In those cases, we’d ask for help with household tasks such as light cleaning, dishes, laundry, grocery shopping (mileage reimbursed), or helping with the dogs. You’d still be paid for the full 4 hours even if you finish early — guaranteed monthly pay of $320.

Ideal for:

  • Students with Thursday afternoon availability

  • Those who enjoy young children and are comfortable around pets

  • Responsible, reliable, and kind caregivers

Location: On the Isthmus (near UW campus; easily accessible by car or bus)

Qualifications:

  • Experience caring for young children (toddlers and preschoolers preferred)

  • Reliable and punctual with consistent Thursday afternoon availability

  • Comfortable with dogs (we have a Lab and a Golden Retriever)

  • Responsible, kind, and engaging with children

  • Able to help occasionally with light household tasks (laundry, dishes, grocery pickup)

  • Valid driver’s license and transportation to our home (bus or car)

  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to complete certification (preferred but not required)
