Schedule:

  • 12-15 hours per week on average, weekly office hours/shifts include some evening/weekend hours each week. Must have availability for programming efforts on Sunday and Tuesday-Thursday evenings
  • Scheduling requirements:
    • Must work a minimum of one 3-hour programming shift per week
      • Regular programming shifts are from 5:30-9 pm on Sunday and Tuesday-Thursday
    • Must work a minimum of one morning or afternoon shift (between the hours of 9AM-5PM) per week for office hours, program planning, and meetings
    • Availability between 4pm-8pm on a weekday evening (Monday-Thursday) for an average of 2 hours for staff meetings. If this block of time on a weeknight does not work for you, please indicate in your application, so supervisors can work out an alternate plan.
  • Attendance at regularly scheduled one on one meetings with your supervisor. 
  • Flexible scheduling based on academic availability, operational need, and supervisor approval.
  • Summer hours, November/Fall Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break hours not available.

  • Spring training dates: January 14-15, 2027

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Lead Center for Cultural Enrichment (CCE) Student Coordinators provide leadership and coordination for CCE initiatives that foster engagement, inclusion, and belonging within the residence halls. They support student staff through guidance, communication, and collaboration to ensure programs and outreach efforts align with departmental goals. Lead Student Coordinators contribute to the development of resources, processes, and training that enhance program quality and consistency. Working as part of the CCE team, they help advance the department’s goals of creating inclusive, respectful communities that promote residents’ personal and academic success.

  • Coordinate and oversee CCE program and co-sponsorship processes, maintaining shared trackers, templates, and communication tools to ensure consistency and accessibility.
  • Serve as a liaison between CCE, Residence Life staff, and campus partners, attending relevant meetings and facilitating communication across teams.
  • Act as a mentor and point person for traditional Student Coordinator staff providing guidance and feedback to Student Coordinators on program planning, marketing, and implementation.
  • Work with supervisor to support the development and maintenance of CCE training materials, resource guides, and program development tools.
  • Co-facilitate staff meetings, assist with training and development, and attend weekly coordination meetings with supervisor and CCE leadership team.
  • Assist the supervisor with the creation and compilation of the Annual Report.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, bulletin boards, and social media content to promote CCE programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee operational resources and spaces to support CCE programs and staff needs.
  • Plan and execute welcome, end-of-semester, and Heritage Month programs.
  • Responsible for meeting expectations for all other duties outlined in the traditional CCE Student Coordinator role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have had programming experience as a Center for Cultural Enrichment Student Coordinator for at least two semesters by the time employment begins.
  • During pre-employment and employment, a student staff member must abide by the University Residence Halls Contract, the Student Housing Handbook and the University of Wisconsin System academic and non-academic policies and expectations. 
  • Must be able to attend training on the dates listed above in Additional Scheduling Notes.
  • All applicants must be currently enrolled at UW-Madison and maintain enrollment through the employment period.
