Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking for a responsible, fun person to occasionally hang out with our 11-year-old son and our dog for weekend date nights. We’ve been lucky to have incredible nannies in the past, all of whom have moved on to pursue their education and careers, and we’re excited to find the next great person to welcome into our lives.

Our son has some special needs, so this role can be a great fit for someone studying or interested in fields such as PT/OT, speech therapy, neuropsychology, education, or related areas. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment and a chance to gain meaningful experience while spending time with a great kid.

During your time with us, this role will likely also involve walking our dog around the neighborhood.

We’d love to connect and share more details if it sounds like a good fit.

Please note if this is a good fit, we would be interested in discussing house-sitting/pet sitting during vacations.

Qualifications:

  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual

  • Enjoys spending time with kids and has a fun, patient personality

  • Comfortable working with an 11-year-old with special needs

  • Interest in or pursuing studies in fields such as PT, OT, speech therapy, neuropsychology, education, psychology, or related areas (preferred but not required)

  • Prior babysitting, childcare, tutoring, camp counseling, or special needs experience is a plus

  • Must be comfortable with dogs and willing to be around an energetic, slightly neurotic Shiba Inu. Time with us will likely mean a dog walk through the neighborhood.

  • Available occasionally on weekends for date nights or day dates

  • Able to create a safe, supportive, and positive environment for our child
