Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking someone to support our son, a 13 year old boy, in attending summer camp at Camp Shalom Noar Bogrim. Camp for middle schoolers includes a mix of on-site activities at camp (outdoor camp) and off-site field trips in the community (beach, canoeing, zoo, Mt Olympus). As an aide, you would proivde support in interacting with peers, navigating off-site activities and transitions, and support with personal care (bathroom, changing for swimming) when needed. Employment is officially through United Cerebral Palsy or Camp Shalom. Camp runs for 6 weeks from 6/22-7/31, 5 days a week. Pay is $18/hour. Additional employment as a nanny (full or part time) for the weeks of 6/15 or several weeks in August is optional if you are interested. Our son has attended this camp for years and LOVES Camp Shalom but cannot attend without aid support. He is verbal, loves to swim, play all kinds of sports and games, be in nature, do crafts, listen to music, etc. There are two optional overnight camp outs. This is a great option if you are pursuing education, pediatrics, or any career working with special needs.

Contact information is for parents, employment would be at Camp Shalom, with the website linked below.

If you do not have a car, there is a bus that runs to camp from multiple locations in Madison.

Training (paid) is required prior to camp starting. Training the week of 6/15 (if employed through Camp Shalom) and 6/2 if through UCP.
