We’re a family of four with a 13-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, located in the Town of Middleton near Airport Road (10 mins from Middleton, 8 mins from Cross Plains).  We enjoy being active and outdoors, with a daughter into swimming, art, science, and music and son into football, basketball, drawing, and movies. 

40 hrs, 5 days/week.  4 weekdays plus Saturday.  Hours are guaranteed, even if the kids are busy with other activities.  Example: 

• Tues- Saturday:  9am-5 pm 
• Mon-Wed, Fri and Sat 9am-5 pm

Some days may require a shifted schedule to start and end late/early (Ex. 2pm-10pm or 7am-3pm).  Hours beyond 40 hours per week or outside of the typical daily work schedule will be paid at a higher rate.  

We are looking for a partner who is flexible, engaged, reliable, patient, proactive, and has strong communication and behavior management skills to become a full-time part of our family over the summer.  Our ideal candidate would have experience with social emotional learning and de-escalation skills.

The position is from June 10th to August 28th, though there is the option for more or less weeks of work for the right candidate. This duration will include a family trip to California for ~2-3 weeks.  Travel + food costs will be covered. A couple of overnight jobs may be available for additional pay.  Applicants who cannot travel or do overnights are still welcome to apply, in which case the window we are in California would be a non-working period. 

Typical Responsibilities 

• Have fun with the kids and keep them safe
• Be an extra set of hands for a family activities
• Help kids prepare/make healthy choices for meals and snacks each day.
• Transportation to and from activities (reliable car needed - will be reimbursed for gas milage)
• Light cleaning 
• Home assistant tasks - grocery shopping, meal planning (foods and recipe ideas provided), errands, laundry, and yard work (watering)

Ideal Responsibilities

• Family Travel - Travel with family to CA and live with us for approximately 2-3 weeks.  Travel + food costs paid. 
• Overnight - Ability to stay overnight with children while parents are traveling for 1-2 nights likely 2 times in over the summer

Preferred background/experience/other:

Working with middle school age children 

Making simple healthy meals (ideas and recipes provided)

Clean driving record and reliable transportation 

Willing to have background check done

Provide references

Non-smoker
