Schedule:

WHEN AND WHERE WILL YOU WORK? The schedule is approximately 5 -15 hours per week, and is flexible during our Mainstage and Summer Stage Box Office hours (see schedule below.) It has on-site work requirements at Madison Youth Arts Center (MYArts). There is bicycle parking onsite; numerous nearby bus routes; street and garage parking. This role involves standing, walking, and occasional bursts of rapid activity. Reasonable accommodations can be made.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

THE ROLE: You are CTM’s theater ambassador, responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience for all patrons. Responsibilities include processing ticket orders, cash and credit card transactions, and answering questions about our shows. This is a great opportunity for someone who has an eye for detail, fabulous customer service, money management experience, and lightning-quick computer skills. You will work with a passionate and creative team, and report directly to our Director of Operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Sell and process single-show and subscription ticket orders (both in-person and over the phone) using Tessitura, our ticketing system.
  • Answer patron questions and troubleshoot order issues.
  • Process complimentary tickets.
  • Perform supporting administrative tasks as needed.
  • Welcome guests to the MYArts building; answer or redirect them to the appropriate MYArts channels.
  • Staff the Box Office during performances held at MYArts, primarily evenings and weekends.
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

This role is ideal for someone with sharp attention to detail, excellent customer service and money-handling skills, and strong computer proficiency. You’ll work with a passionate, creative team, and report directly to our Patron Experience Manager.

  • Excellence and Experience in customer service (ticket sales is a plus!)
  • Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions independently.
  • Willingness to learn new systems.
  • Comfortable occasionally working solo.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Enjoys connecting with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the arts — especially theater!
