Department Overview:
Monona Academy of Dance first opened in 1948 under the name Jean's School of Dance in New Glarus, WI. In the 75+ years after, the school is now owned by the founder's daughter, JoJean Retrum, and has operated as Monona Academy of Dance since the 1970's. Our students have worked in successful careers outside of dance, as well as within the dance field. Former students have starred in films, been in featured roles on Broadway, worked with companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Nashville Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, etc, worked as artistic directors, studio owners, cruise performers and Disney performers, costumers, dance instructors, choreographers, and more.
We continue to strive to give all students a well-rounded experience, training them in a variety of dance techniques and developing their artistic voices.

Schedule:
-At least 2 hours of teaching, sometime between 12:30-5pm
-Preferably at least 2 days a week, our summer classes run Monday-Thursday each week
-Availability on dates between June 22-July 23
-Classes can be scheduled based on your availability
-There is potential for a weekly Thursday evening class if you are available
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $30.00 to $35.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Looking for summer tap dance instructor with ability to teach beginning to advanced classes for wide range of ages. Most students in the classes will have previous tap experience.
What we need:
-A knowledgable tap instructor with wide range of tap vocabulary
-Able to teach ages 9-18 (will be split into age appropriate groups), with potential to teach adults
-At least 2 hours of teaching, sometime between 12:30-5pm
-Preferably at least 2 days a week, our summer classes run Monday-Thursday each week
-Availability on dates between June 22-July 23
-Classes can be scheduled based on your availability

-Instructor with transportation (we are located on east side of Madison)

Physical Demands
Must be able to dance, stand on feet, and demonstrate steps to students for multiple hours.
