Position Summary/Job Duties:

Family with an active 11-year old boy and an 8-year old girl, in search of a fun and organized full time summer nanny June 8-19, June 29-July 31, 8 hours per day, sometime between 8 AM to 5 PM each day (we have some flexibility on start/stop times). The kids are at a really great age-- still excited to play with you but independent enough to do a lot on their own!

Our home is located on the Near West side of Madison (1-2 miles from UW campus). We also have a 6-year old shepherd-hound mix, Frankie, who will not require care but will be around the house. One parent works from home in a dedicated work space.

Position includes taking kids to summer activities (summer pool membership, golf lessons, dance camp, hockey camp), planning activities (zoo, museums, libraries, crafts, baking, etc.), and outdoor play (they love games and sports). A typical day would include an activity outside of the house, and some unstructured play in the neighborhood (often with friends). Some light housework (packing lunches, tidying up, loading/unloading dishwasher, folding kids' clothes, etc.) is expected and appreciated. Phone use around the kids should be limited to bare necessity (bring a book to the pool!), and the kids should be off screens with limited exceptions.

After the summer, there may be an opportunity to continue occasionally watching the kids for date night, on the weekend, etc.

Driver's license and own car required. Mileage will be reimbursed at 2026 IRS standard business mileage rate of 72.5 cents per mile. Other costs related to the kids and their activities will be paid for outright or reimbursed.

Required

  • Reliable vehicle and clean driving record
  • Non-smoker

  • CPR certification
