Position Title: Bus Driver, Level II
Department/Location: Transportation - Transportation Center
Reports To: Transportation Assistant Manager

Position Summary: The Bus Driver operates a district vehicle to transport district personnel and
students.
Qualifications:
● Commercial Driver's License.
● Bilingual skills - Spanish/English preferred.
Essential Functions:
● Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle.
● Operates vehicles according to policies and practices of the district as well as Federal
and State law.
● Knowledge of safe driving practices and techniques.
● Maintains cleanliness within the interior of the vehicle according to State statutes and
district policies.
● Drives assigned route as prepared by the Transportation Services Manager or
transportation office staff.
● Provides written reports to fleet mechanics on defects or malfunctions.
● Interacts with students, parents, and staff to maintain positive, professional
relationships.
● Enforces all bus rider safety rules and regulations; completes Student Misconduct
Reports as needed.
● Performs all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to drive with concentration, maintain behavior on the bus, and ability to follow
route instructions
• Current Commercial Driver's License
• Pass DOT physical
• No more than two moving violations in the past three years from the date of violation
occurrence

Working Conditions:
This job is performed primarily inside either the garage or bus.
Physical / Mental Requirements:
This is a light job, which involves lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally. This job primarily involves
sitting with a frequent need to move about for brief periods of time. Reaching forward and
handling objects occurs frequently. Verbal and auditory communication is frequently involved.
Near and far vision acuity and accommodation are constantly utilized.
