Position Summary/Job Duties:

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Private Swim Instructor to provide one-on-one, one-hour swim lessons, 1-3 times a week, at a family’s private residential pool for one child.

This role is ideal for an instructor who enjoys personalized coaching, prioritizes safety, and works well in a calm, private environment along with experience working with children and diverse skill levels.

It's important that you're willing to wear an N95 mask during services (a variety of options will be provided to ensure a good fit) and be willing to take and pass a COVID test (provided by the family) prior to each lesson.

Duties

  • Conduct personalized swimming lessons tailored to each student's age, skill level, and learning goals within private pool settings
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate water safety, stroke techniques, and physical fitness components
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during lessons, including proper supervision and behavior management
  • Maintain a clean and organized teaching area around the pool
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and safety considerations
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs or specific learning styles

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience in swimming instruction, lifeguarding, or sports coaching, especially with children
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
  • Ability to demonstrate water safety skills and emergency response procedures effectively
  • Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels, including those requiring special attention or behavioral support
  • Passion for teaching, patience, and adaptability to meet individual student needs

Qualifications

  • Certified Swim Instructor and/or Lifeguard Certification preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Comfortable teaching in a private residential setting
  • Willing to undergo a background check
  • Willing to travel to Deforest
