Schedule:

Schedule is highly flexible; the 10 to 15 hours per week can be spread out over multiple days (although three hours is the minium for one work session) OR can be worked in fewer, longer sessions (up to a six hour work session) to accommodate class schedules.

The highest priority is someone who can start mid-July. Continuing through the fall semester is also possible.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Assist with the seasonal care and enhancement of a beautiful, wooded private estate in Middleton. This is an ideal position for students who enjoy independent, active outdoor work with highly organized guidelines.

Duties include:

  • Landscaping & Estate Care: Planting, weeding, maintaining specialized garden beds, and applying mulch.

  • Property & Trail Maintenance: Clearing woodland trails, sweeping decks, blowing leaves, and assisting with outdoor DIY projects.

  • Tool Operation: Utilizing light, modern battery-powered equipment to keep the property pristine.

NOTE: The residence is NOT on the bus line. Employees must have their own reliable transportation. To compensate for the location, you will be paid an additional $25 travel stipend for each work session.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable, responsible, and possessing a strong work ethic.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

  • No professional landscaping experience required, but an interest in gardening, plants, or outdoor projects is a plus. Also, must be comfortable working independently in an outdoor setting.

  • Willingness to learn to safely operate basic light power tools (such as a battery-powered blower or a lightweight, battery-powered mini chainsaw for light trail maintenance). Safety gear and thorough, clear instructions will be provided.
