Department Overview: | Hannah's House East provides support for cognitively disabled adults to live in their own home. HHE not only supervises support staff all over Madison, but also runs Community Based Residential Facility owned and operated on the East. HHE offers nutritious meals, activities, 24-hour awake staffing, friendly and stable staffing.

Schedule: | Choose a minimun of two 2-hour (or more) shifts during these hours:
2-10 pm weekdays
6am-10pm Saturday and Sunday

Nighttime shifts available, but not divisible:
10pm-6am
Employee can choose nights only and can sleep through the night during nighttime shift (barring emergencies--which are rare).

Position Summary/Job Duties: | Are you studying education, special ed, OT/PT/SLP, psychology, social work, nursing, medicine, or another helping profession? Looking for meaningful experience that will strengthen your skills while making a real difference in someone's life?
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable individual to join our team in providing one-on-one support for Olivia, a delightful adult with autism, who lives 15 minutes away by car from UW and is also on the busline. This position offers valuable hands-on experience for students preparing for careers in education, healthcare, therapy, or human services.
Olivia enjoys walking, watching TV, and participating in community outings. She thrives with patient, encouraging support and enjoys spending time with people who are kind, dependable, and have a positive outlook.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing companionship and encouraging independence
- Going on walks and community outings
- Sharing leisure activities, such as watching TV together
- Assisting with daily routines, personal cares and life skills
- Supporting participation in recreational and community activities
- Helping maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment
We're looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring, dependable, and mature
- Interested in gaining experience with autism and developmental disabilities
- Able to commit to a consistent schedule. Minimum per week 4 hours, flexible times, can work up to 40 hours a week
- A licensed driver with reliable transportation is preferred, but not mandatory
Experience with autism is welcome but not required. Training will be provided for the right person.
