Sandwich Team Member

Crafting beautiful food, one sandwich at a time.

Pay: $17–20/hour, depending on experience.

Join Our Bakery Sandwich Team

Bloom believes great sandwiches begin with great bread.

Every morning, our bakers fill the bakery with naturally fermented sourdoughs, flaky croissants, buttery buttermilk biscuits, focaccia, and artisan loaves—all baked from scratch just steps away from where our Sandwich Team creates the day’s menu.

As a member of this team, you’ll use thoughtfully sourced ingredients to prepare beautiful sandwiches, tartines, pressed panini, and our much-loved buttermilk biscuit sandwiches. You may also prepare grab-and-go favorites, assemble catering boxes, and help keep our menu available and beautifully presented throughout the day.

This isn’t simply a sandwich-making position. It’s an opportunity to work alongside talented bakers, pastry chefs, and hospitality professionals who care deeply about quality, teamwork, and creating food that makes someone’s day a little brighter.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare sandwiches, tartines, panini, and our signature buttermilk biscuit sandwiches according to Bloom recipes and quality standards.
  • Slice and prepare meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook components used throughout our sandwich and catering programs.
  • Use proper knife skills and follow safe food-handling practices.
  • Operate panini presses and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Build menu items with consistency, speed, and thoughtful presentation.
  • Keep prep stations organized, clean, stocked, and ready for service.
  • Follow labeling, rotation, sanitation, and food-safety procedures.
  • Assist with catering production and occasional catering deliveries.
  • Contribute to dishwashing and daily kitchen cleaning as part of a shared team effort.
  • Work with an awareness of timing and deadlines so products are ready when promised.
  • Communicate thoughtfully and respectfully with coworkers and guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Love great food and appreciate quality ingredients.
  • Take pride in doing thoughtful, consistent work.
  • Enjoy working with your hands and staying active throughout the day.
  • Are dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Can move with purpose in a fast-paced environment without losing attention to detail.
  • Enjoy contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Receive coaching and constructive feedback with a willingness to learn.
  • Understand that hospitality begins long before a guest reaches the register.

Kitchen experience is helpful, but it isn’t everything. We’re happy to train someone who brings a great attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine desire to learn.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to stand for the duration of a shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
